Ya see that up there ... it's called 'Consola' and it's a little 'Open Source' application for OSX...go 'head, give it a click. In my opinion, it is the start of the NEXT BIG THING. Consola is... let's see, what are they calling it now -- an 'Open Source Bluetooh Placecasting Software.' Basically, utilizing a protocol called 'object push' you can <push> media to any device that has bluetooth, ... technically, that is, there are a few provisions, but I'll get to that later. So what does that mean, pda,blackberries... and cell phones... millions and millions of cell phones can receive, audio, picture, video... it's a media bonanza.

Even though this application and others like it have been available for over a year, it's really just becoming useful in my part of the country. Europe, Asia...Australia, being three to four years ahead of the US in cell phone technology, are starting to put up some serious examples of how this can be used. Landrover, recently introduced an ad campaign using this technology in Times Square --Although I think their use of object push through bluetooth was not the best implementation, it's a start, if you're not careful this can add up to all out spam.... for your cell phone.

All in all, Consola is a nice little application, but right now it isn't ready for broad consumption, it's for those that like to tinker, those that don't have thousands of dollars to build media servers and purpose built transmitters... those that have more imagination than techie sense...and that's what I'm doing... follow my progress through Flickr and my blog.

I drop in on these blogs from time to time-- then their is my blog, which I suspect I will achieve new heights in neglect with...
